NEW! Able Afterschool Program

An afterschool program designed for children with special needs.

Schools Served

Prattville Kindergarten • Prattville Primary • Prattville Elementary • Prattville Intermediate • Daniel Pratt Elementary

Students will be transported to the Able Afterschool site at Daniel Pratt Elementary.
Participants should be independently mobile (able to move without wheelchair assistance).

Program Details

• Grades: Kindergarten – 6th Grade

• Hours: After school until 6:00 PM

• Start Date: January 7

• Weekly Fee: $100

• Financial Assistance: Available for those who qualify

• School Calendar: Able Afterschool follows the Autauga County School Calendar

🌟 Field of Dreams & Ability Sports

Where EVERYONE gets to play!

The Field of Dreams and Ability Sports remove the barriers that often keep children and adults with physical or mental disabilities from participating in sports. Here, athletes of all abilities can enjoy the thrill of America’s favorite pastimes — with no limits.

Participants play on a rubberized turf field that accommodates wheelchairs and other assistive devices, while also helping to prevent injuries.

But it’s more than just the game…
❤️ It's about making friends,
💪 building self-esteem,
🧠 gaining independence, and
🏅 being treated like every other athlete.

Ages 5 to 70+ are welcome to participate!

• 📅 Season: March 21 – May 9 (Opening Day: March 21!)

• ⏰ Days: Tuesday & Thursday evenings, Saturday mornings

🌟 Abilities Gym & Swim

Specialized one-on-one instruction for children with unique physical or medical needs.

At the Prattville YMCA, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to grow stronger, build confidence, and have fun. Our Abilities Programs provide supportive instruction tailored for children with special needs, ages 3–16. A doctor’s note is required to participate.

⚠️ Please note: Participants may not be enrolled in both Abilities and Group lessons simultaneously.
